After the “tame” Garden Route we can
hardly wait to finally set off inland. The national parks are lined up
next to each other like pearls on a string, and the Addo Elephant Park
is certainly one of the most popular. We pull up amongst the crowds at
the entrance, which seems rather like an amusement park with souvenir
shops, cafés, restaurants and campsites. Everything is so pedantically
maintained that no blade of grass grows in the “wrong” place.
